{"id":4315,"date":"2020-02-14T18:12:05","date_gmt":"2020-02-14T10:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exim.com.my\/development\/?post_type=resources-center&#038;p=4315"},"modified":"2022-07-26T20:14:45","modified_gmt":"2022-07-26T12:14:45","slug":"exim-bank-malaysia-set-to-aid-covid-19-affected-clients-2","status":"publish","type":"press-release","link":"https:\/\/exim.com.my\/development\/press_release\/exim-bank-malaysia-set-to-aid-covid-19-affected-clients-2\/","title":{"rendered":"EXIM Bank Malaysia Set To Aid COVID-19 Affected Clients"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kuala Lumpur, 14 February 2020&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (\u201cEXIM Bank\u201d) joins an array of caring banks offering assistance to clients who have been financially impacted by the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV or COVID-19) outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the Development Financial Institution (DFI) of the country mandated to promote cross-border trade, this outbreak puts much strain on export-import trade activities that inevitably affects EXIM Bank\u2019s clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EXIM Bank President\/Chief Executive Officer Dato\u2019 Nazri Abdul Rahim said: \u201cAs the world\u2019s second largest economy and one of Malaysia\u2019s largest trading partners, China is a key facet in the global value chain and this outbreak in one of its major cities inexorably affects the economic, trade and manufacturing activities the world over. The widespread implications of the COVID-19 outbreak are rapidly unravelling and many exporters and importers are faced with disruptions to their businesses \u2013 from ships being trapped at ports, workers quarantined to travel restrictions; all these do pose financial challenges to businesses, some of whom are our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In light of this, EXIM Bank is set to aid clients whose businesses are affected by the COVID-19 outbreak by exploring ways to ease the financial obligations they may have with the Bank.
