Kuala Lumpur (11 November 2014) – Export–Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank) today signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) for the development of entrepreneurs and to enhance both organizations capacity. The memorandum was witnessed by YB Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, and Y.Bhg. Datuk Seri Ibrahim Muhamad, Secretary General, Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.

The memorandums encapsulate collaboration arrangements relating to entrepreneurship, education, investment, including service management and social development. This collaboration will be a platform to intensify efforts among the entrepreneurs and to build up a highly competitive environment with strong business integrity in order to penetrate the global market. EXIM Bank’s role is to provide access of financing to the entrepreneurs in venturing business abroad in all sectors on MARA’s recommendation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dato’ Adissadikin Ali, President/Chief Executive Officer of EXIM Bank said that “EXIM Bank is mandated to assist Malaysians venturing business abroad by providing its financing and advisory services. This collaboration is another important initiative to elevate the entrepreneurs competencies to be at par with the global companies”, added Dato’ Adissadikin Ali.
