Dato’ Shahrul Nazri Appointed As President/ Chief Executive Officer Of EXIM Bank Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 July 2019 – Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank), is pleased to announce the appointment of Dato’ Shahrul Nazri Dato’ Abdul Rahim as the new President/Chief Executive Officer effective 1 July 2019.

The Bank’s Chairman Dato’ Feizal Mustapha said: “Dato’ Nazri is a seasoned banker ideal for the top job, he brings with him a wealth of experience especially in the areas of strategic planning, business performance management and regulatory compliance. As the President/Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, he will be critical in directing the bank forward as we fulfill our mandate to be the cross-border enabler of choice for Malaysian businesses.”

Dato’ Feizal continued: “the Board of Directors joins me in welcoming Dato’ Nazri to EXIM Bank and is confident that the bank will benefit from his international experiences and insights as a “transformation leader” whilst we continue to focus on executing our strategy and delivering value.”

Dato’ Shahrul Nazri, who holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) (Hons) from Anglia University, United Kingdom, has a long track record in the financial services industry, leading large scale and complex transformation and change programmes.

Prior to his appointment in EXIM Bank, he held an integral role and was part of the senior leadership team in CIMB Group overseeing Group Corporate Development and International businesses.

Dato’ Shahrul Nazri was also the Chief Strategy Officer for Maybank’s regional investment banking and stockbroking business, where he was instrumental in the strategic acquisition of Kim Eng Holdings in 2010 and subsequently driving the group post-merger integration, transformation management and regional expansion programme across 10 countries. His previous appointments include senior positions in Kenanga Holdings Berhad, Tune Money Sdn. Bhd. and was a founding member of iPerintis Sdn. Bhd., a digital technology enabler for PETRONAS.
