EXIM Bank Malaysia Fetes Al Barakh Children at Its Iftar Celebration

7 April 2023

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 April 2023 – Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank) brought joy to over 45 children and caregivers of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al Barakh at its “IFTAR Ramadan EXIM Bank” celebration held at the Bank’s premises today.

In addition to those from the Al Barakh home, the Iftar session was also carried out to celebrate the Bank’s Board of Directors, Shariah Committee, Management and over 300 of its staff.

“In this Holy month of Ramadan, EXIM Bank is honoured to host the children and caregivers of the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al Barakh at the Bank, as it gives us a chance to fete and offer them the joy of celebrating Iftar and also Hari Raya, together with all the staff of EXIM Bank,” said Arshad Ismail, President/Chief Executive Officer of EXIM Bank Malaysia, as a gift of RM10,000 was also given to the Home.

Arshad added that the Iftar celebration was also the Bank’s way of commemorating its staff and Management and appreciating all that they have done for the year.

Earlier that day, volunteers from the Bank took the children and caregivers from the Home to shop for Baju Raya and goodies for Hari Raya. Then, they were brought to the Bank for prayers and the Iftar programme.

Besides this programme, EXIM Bank also donated to the Kanser KIDs Foundation and Pusat Jagaan Al Fikrah as its CSR activities for the month of Ramadan. Kanser KIDS Foundation is a support group of parents with children who have cancer, while Pusat Jagaan Al Fikrah is a home that cares for senior citizens.
