EXIM BANK recently implemented an internal CSR Environmental Programme. The objective was to create awareness among EXIMers on the importance of proper e-waste management through talks by Jabatan Alam Sekitar and Non-Governmental Organizations. It was also to inculcate recycling habits in EXIMers through the collection of unused electronics peripherals for proper disposal.

The launch of the month-long E-Waste campaign was done by its Acting President/CEO, En. Azhar Awang Kechil. The programme was filled with two sessions: a talk by Pn. Nor Azah Masrom, representative from Hazardous Substance Division, Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment and a talk from Mr. Thinaganarabhan Padmanabhan from an NGO, Used Computer Malaysia. EXIM Bank also organised an inter-department competition open for all staff to participate. Through this competition, each group needs to create a product created from any E-Waste items. At the end of the programme, the employees are given a special E-Waste canvas bag and E-Waste keyboard sticker.
