The 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), held from 18 to 23 May in Algiers, Algeria, brought together global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to address pressing economic challenges and foster strategic cooperation across the Islamic world.

Held in parallel, the AMAN Union Executive Council Meeting convened key representatives from export credit agencies, investment insurers, and reinsurers operating under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), reinforcing collaboration in trade and investment protection.

A key highlight of the event was the Business Engagement Program, designed to promote impactful dialogue between the public and private sectors on trade finance, sustainability, and cross-border investment.

Malaysia was prominently represented by YBhg. Dato’ Johan Mahmood Merican, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, who led strategic discussions focused on inclusive growth, economic resilience, and strengthening Malaysia’s role in Islamic finance and development cooperation.

EXIM Bank Malaysia also participated actively, underscoring its commitment to supporting global trade partnerships and enabling Malaysian businesses to expand internationally.
